Progressing with the philosophy of Pleasure Activism -
Small World Market is an innovative and inclusive market series based in Cincinnati, Ohio. Founded by two Black creatives, their mission is to bring the diverse communities of Cincinnati together through immersive art experiences that center: sustainability in action, the celebration of class and race inclusion, and the dimensional power of visual art. Community collaboration is the backbone of our mission: Intentionally fostering a more sustainable future.
We provide attendees with a unique and engaging experience that inspires creativity, fosters connections, and showcases the transformative power of sustainable art, fashion, and music. Each Market is uniquely themed and curated to its location in the city. Cincinnati has consistently stayed a high ranking city for segregation - we seek to change this.
Our marketplace showcases curated vendors who prioritize sustainability and inclusion as a lifestyle; offering eco-friendly and ethically produced products that align with our commitment to environmental stewardship. Every Market has a curated gallery of local fine art and boasts site specific installations commissioned from under-represented artists and artisans. With a variety of performances, curated works and diverse partnerships, the grounding of Small World Market is a living bulletin board located at the Context Tent.

Nigel, a former engineer and project manager in the automotive industry, now owns Jet Black Vintage, a thriving vintage clothing company focused on curated sustainable fashion. He embraces upcycling principles, transforming pre-loved items into unique pieces and minimizing waste through small batch cut and sew production. Nigel is dedicated to nurturing local talent, providing a platform for artists, designers, and entrepreneurs to showcase their creativity. He also connects local organizations with mainstream consumers, using fashion, arts, and events to create awareness and drive positive change. Nigel's passion and dedication shape the industry towards inclusivity, sustainability, and social responsibility.
SLiNK is a painter; as well as curator, teacher & designer. Currently the Yates Fellow, completing her MFA at the University of Cincinnati DAAP, They've held il/legal art experiences anywhere from abandoned construction sites to local breweries to an established residency in Berlin. She is the sole proprietor of SLiNK.love , a handmade collection of fine art and wearables. They are the other half of Small World Market and play the role of Creative Director, she takes great pride in making unforgettable immersive experiences. SLiNK is dedicated to creating opportunities, equalizing access, sustainable lifestyle choices and curating atmospheres of preventive care.
